Platensiedlung

General information

In 1994, the municipal ABG Frankfurt Holding GmbH acquired the neighbourhood under the television tower, which was once built by the Americans as a housing estate for soldiers, from federal assets. Since 2018, the northern part of the Platensiedlung, with 19 rows of houses and a total of 342 large flats, has been undergoing refurbishment and redensification.

The constellation of actors was a difficult one as the various interests led to conflicts.

Project management

The contract was assigned to the architect in the traditional way with the HOAI service phases. The work phases 5, 6 and 7 were then the responsibility of the client or general contractor.

  • Serial prefabrication enables implementation (less weight on existing buildings)
