At this year's congress, current cooperation approaches to and strategies for urban development policy will be discussed as well as ideas for sustainable, integrated development of urban and rural spaces at national, European and international scale. We will present the initial results of our ‘Building & Living’ project at our expert forum and invite you to join the discussion.

• Introduction to the project ‘Building & Living: Platform for Networking, Synthesis and Transfer’ by Prof. Dr. Drs. h. c. Ortwin Renn, former Director at the Institute for Transformative Sustainability Research, member of the acatech Presidium, scientific project manager "Building & Living
• Solutions for more affordable housing – the neighbourhood and building level, presented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Agnes Förster, Head of the Chair of Planning Theory and Urban Development, RWTH Aachen University, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Winter, Chair of Timber Structures and Building Construction, Technical University of Munich, co-leaders of the project working groups
• Overview of the project's own mapping of real-world laboratories and best practices as a basis for scaling and transfer, Stefanie Bucher, Head Office ‘Building & Living’ Platform, acatech
